Individuals with special needs often struggle to understand experiences in everyday life due to receptive language delays and/or other developmental delays. This struggle often leads to an enhanced sense of anxiety and stress. In addition, autonomy in individuals with special needs and the completion of everyday tasks becomes challenging when the individuals struggle to understand the tasks themselves and the expectations surrounding them, as well as the steps necessary to complete them.
Seeable will change this narrative. Seeable's objective is to create and implement therapy-backed videos that accompany real life experiences in the community and at home in everyday life. Our hope is that Seeable will enrich the lives of individuals with special needs by providing a way for them to see an experience to better understand it. Modeled with a variety of speech therapies, practices, and models, including those aligned with Gestalt Language Processing and Natural Language Acquisition in mind, and by integrating authentic settings and sensory experiences, it is Seeable’s hope to helps its users by supporting and integrating aspects of natural language acquisition and naturalistic environments through the use of videos and visual representation experiences. The videos and visual representations can be accessed via QR code at various establishments in the community, by searching the Seeable website, or by searching the websites of businesses who have embraced the use of Seeable's videos in their establishments.
